I can’t tell you how many of Bosch’s Axxis series dryers we sell throughout New York City, it’s adjoining boroughs and other spots with apts that are spatially-challenged and don’t allow for external venting. Bosch’s WTE86300US drys via condensation, which means that it condenses the moisture in the hot air to water and releases it through the water drain. No ducting and no blower is necessary to help expel hot air. This makes installation easy, fast and very cost effective. These machines are extremely popular and I can’t think of one customer complaint about them. Recently I’ve seen many new construction jobs in the NYC-area that are fitting their apartments with EuroTech’s non-venting dryer and washer, only to have apartment owners junking or selling the Eurotechs on Craigslist or Ebay and then replacing them with the Bosch Axxis series.
Another plus is that at 3.95 cubic ft. it’s small enough to fit in a closet or some other quarter in a potentially cramped apt, yet it’s capacity is large enough where you won’t have to wash one pair of underwear at a time! And as of two months ago, Bosch now offers an AXXIS washer – WAS20160UC – at 3.4 cu. ft, which offers nearly double the drum size of their older WFL2090UC washer which rang in at 2.1 cu. ft.
A few other features worth noting on the WTE86300US non-venting dryer:
- Electronic sensors detect moisture level to prevent excess drying and wasting energy
- 11 drying cycles are offered that allow tailoring to your specific clothing fabric.
- Operates at 67 decibels
- Stainless steel drum is configured to prevent clothing snags (akin to Miele’s “honeycomb” design)
- Stacking kit options include one with a pull-out tray so you can fold clothes on the spot
Can’t say enough about these products and you can’t beat the price point on them either. MSRP on the WTE86300US is $999 and you’ll find it for less than that if you look around.
